Alliance Taipan Fighter

Ship-launched fighters are the cutting edge of combat technology in the bubble, and DSE operates a small fleet of fighters to suppliment its heavier security craft. As the single most durable fighter currently available to Commanders, the Taipan is a staple of the DSE's security operation.

One of these fighters is commonly mounted into one of the two slots on my Krait Mk II or Anaconda's fighter bays, complimenting the faster but more fragile Gu-97 or F63 Condor. Not my favorite fighter, and it could be argued that the difference in durability is negligible. But certainly the Taipan manages to hold out longer against heavy fire and so is deployed when taking on larger ships like Pythons or Anacondas. It's a great choice for use with a hired pilot.
